During this event, we explored ideas and experiences related to:
- Wilderness – What is it, and what does it mean to you?
- Stewardship – What has stewardship traditionally looked like, and what do you think is the future of good stewardship?
- Empowerment – Perceptions and experiences of being female or nonbinary in male-dominated environments

7 Stages Theatre’s True North
March 15-31, 2024
A creative exploration of the invisible forces that connect us across the globe, despite our differences.
Developed in partnership with a NASA scientist, this project illuminates the dedicated work of scientists from around the world.
True North is a creative exploration of the forces that interconnect us, and the ways we can accept and work within them to stabilize ourselves internally and create a more just, peaceful world.
Characterizations of Magnetic North (Scott Turner Schofield) and the Noosphere (Dorothy Bell-Polk) are paired with relatable everyday Joe (Markell Williams) and a scientist (Priscilla Umphrey) speaking her truth. The show is a guidebook, combining the latest scientific research with ancient practices from cultural traditions which enable each of us to ground ourselves in the midst of uncertainty.
7 Stages is proud to partner with Wild Cumberland and the Atlanta Science Festival for an immersive experience that brings scientists, artists, and community members together! Inspired by a recent visit to Cumberland Island, renowned artist Dorothy O’Conner designs a visual art installation that sets the stage for vital dialogues during Art of Activism: Stewards of the Wild, which carries through to the world premiere of True North.
